The fishing cat was rejected by its mother immediately after birth. No one understands why the mother cat did not care for the kitten, especially since she had successfully raised previous litters.
When found, the fishing cat was quite weak, but quickly regained strength, living alongside three leopard siblings, providing it with companionship. They were a week older than the fishing cat.
It’s fascinating to see the differences between species as they develop. However, shortly afterward, they were separated because the leopard cubs were growing much larger than the fishing cat, requiring their own living space.
