The dog, named Barney, was assigned alongside staff member Greg to protect the teddy bears at the museum.
In 2006, a museum in the West of England held an exhibition of rare teddy bears valued at over $900,000.
While on this important duty, Greg was particularly fond of a small cute bear. Greg didn’t hold back his compliments and wished to own that bear. Barney seemed very upset, giving in to his fury, and tore apart 100 stuffed bears in just 10 minutes.
After this famous “teddy bear massacre,” Barney was no longer allowed to enter the exhibition. This event also marked Barney’s retirement; he no longer had guard duties.
It’s hard to tell if this is a sad or humorous story? But the jealousy of Barney when his owner loved a teddy bear more than him only proves that Barney deeply cherished Greg.
Pet owners should be more mindful of this issue when caring for their pets!
