Pets have increasingly become close to us, regarded as members of our families. Therefore, when they unfortunately pass away, the owners are profoundly saddened and find it hard to forget.
The case of 21-year-old Ilay Tamam is the most telling. An Israeli soccer player, recently lost his loyal companion. In the match, he tried to score a goal to farewell his beloved dog.
The match between Hapoel Rishon – his team, and the opponent Agudat Sport Ashdod, was quite intense. In the 41st minute, Tamam breached the penalty area and scored a beautiful goal.
Overwhelmed with joy, he took off his jersey and ran to the camera, revealing a dress shirt underneath with a picture of his dog printed on it. Deeply moved, he kissed the picture and shed tears.
The game ended with a victory for Ilay Tamam’s team. However, he was shown a yellow card for removing his jersey, which is against the rules.
This touching moment quickly garnered attention on social media. Many left heartfelt comments and supported the player.
