Amidst the rising number of abandoned cats, some find a second chance. A compassionate person contacted Little Wanderers in New York after discovering an orange tabby alone in a park.
Despite the bitter cold, Finnegan patiently waited in one spot for months, capturing the rescuers’ hearts. Once a house cat abandoned by his owners, Finnegan never lost hope or trust. He waited in the park, longing for their return, but they never came.
However, the rescuers were determined to save the cat and give him a new chance at life.
On the rescue mission, the team found Finnegan nestled near tree branches, his paw tucked in to fend off the cold.
Approaching Finnegan, the rescuers expected various reactions, but he surprised them with affectionate headbutts, displaying his friendly nature. He allowed them to transport him to safety, seemingly aware they were there to help.
Despite initial fear of the carrier, Finnegan settled in quickly, knowing good things awaited him. Courtney Chandel, co-founder of the rescue, said:
“Finnegan is happy with Little Wanderers now. It took him no time to warm up to his new surroundings.”
Upon arriving at the rescue, Finnegan underwent a thorough vet examination, revealing he was around 2 years old and not microchipped.
The professional team administered necessary treatments and scheduled a neuter procedure for Finnegan, who was found intact. Despite needing a forever home, he was in overall good health.
Finnegan’s journey to his forever home began when he was fostered by Jessica Du.
As soon as he arrived at his foster home, he began exploring his new environment and revealed his charming personality. Jessica shared:
“He’s the sweetest boy. I’ve only had him for three days, but I can tell he’s got the sweetest personality.”
After months of waiting in the park, Finnegan is now safe, and most importantly, he never lost faith in humans.
Now happily living with his foster mom, Finnegan eagerly awaits his forever home and a chance at a better life!
