One day, a new cat made an appearance in the catio. It wasn’t until later, when a neighbor mentioned that he was a stray who had been around the area for years.
They named him Ziggy and immediately started befriending him once they realized his situation. Ziggy began visiting twice a day for food, but initially, he was too scared to allow anyone to touch him. Determined to make him feel safe during his visits, his new friends decided to build him his own little house.
After swiftly arranging for the necessary surgery from the veterinarian, they brought Ziggy home. Renee said: After he had surgery, we kept him in a separated room for a few days. After a few days, we let him meet Gerrie and Loki again. Luckily they still got along, so we decided to keep Ziggy with us.
The couple had built Ziggy a little outdoor house so he’d have his very own space to feel safe in.
It took some time, but Ziggy finally feels at home in his new house and is thoroughly enjoying life.
Nowadays, Ziggy prefers to stretch out next to the window or relax near the warm dishwasher. However, he still relishes spending time outdoors with his new siblings.
The three cats now love to hang out together, watching the world go by — keeping a look out for other stray cats who may need a home.
